Printing and Graphic Communication

	The Printing/Graphic Communication program includes a general introduction to the printing industry as a whole and then focuses on the production processes involved in the photo-offset lithography. The following aspects of the production process are covered: shop safety and organization, typography, typesetting, desktop publishing (including the use of QuarkXPress, Illustrator and Photoshop software), the process camera and darkroom, film assembly, plate making – conventional and digital, offset press operation, and bindery/finishing operations. Related math, reading, writing, and workplace skills are also taught.
